From the beginning
We’re committed to our social and ethical responsibility to create premium picnic and beach accessories with minimal impact on the environment and the people who bring our designs to life. The necessity to educate ourselves on eco-friendly options and ethical practices stemmed from the very beginning.
Our approach is not just about what we make our products with. It's about where they come from, how they're made, and what happens to them if you no longer want them.
We think long-term, making adjustments to lower the impact of production for both products and packaging, while considering the full lifecycle of each product. We choose ethics first and foremost, and then we consider materials that are recycled or can be upcycled later on.
Materials & packaging
For all of our products, we use 100% premium cotton or textiles made from recycled ocean waste. We don’t use recycled materials if they weren't ethically sourced in the first place and we don’t work with scratchy recycled blends or cheap materials to lower our production costs. We've worked hard to find suppliers and makers that are fair trade certified, which means they meet rigorous environmental, economic and social standards.
Every ISLA order is shipped to you in 100% recycled Ocean Bound Plastic pollution mailers and poly bags, or recycled kraft boxes. Our swing tags are made from 100% recycled paper.
Our commitment
At ISLA, we only work with supply partners who we can form genuine relationships with and who share the same values and beliefs towards ethical trade and mindful production.
Each step of the way is carefully considered by working closely with our production teams. From the creation of our product concepts, to dreaming up our feminine, signature florals and bohemian-inspired prints. All the way through to sourcing materials and making the final product. Our guiding principle is being able to create beautiful, ethically made collections of a premium quality, which gives you the choice to shop with labels like ourselves.
